Closing of the Bottle Tree Park

My children went to the Bottle Tree Park on the Kampung Nature Trail in the National Geographic Young Explorer Programme 2014 in February/March 2014. It was an amazing programme. All the facilitators were young, energetic and passionate about their love for kampung life.

Kampung is a Malay word which means a small village or community of houses in Malay-speaking lands. It is unique in the Singapore context because of our Malay roots.

I remember that my children learnt much about plants and animals and enjoyed the fun games created by these programme facilitators. They were encouraged to self explore in the beautiful natural setting of the park and had such a wonderful time!!

As I received this email about the closure of the park, I felt sad for them and a strong urge to support them for the cause.

They will be holding their last two Balik Kampung sessions this weekend on 26th and 27th of July from 9am till 1pm. They will love to have you and your family there. "We will be celebrating at the Kampung with lots of people, especially on Sunday where we will have a tour of the Kampung and reminisce how the Kampung was built up over the past six years."
